Apologia Biology – 2 Semesters
Exploring Creation with Biology is a college-prep biology course that provides a detailed introduction to the methods and concepts of general biology. With an emphasis on the vocabulary of biology, the course provides the student with a strong background in the scientific method, the five-kingdom classification scheme, microscopy, biochemistry, cellular biology, molecular and Mendelian genetics, evolution, dissection, and ecosystems. Studying science is learning more about God, so faith and belief in the Creator is stressed throughout the course. For more information about the coursework, please go to the Apologia website.
Students will receive a detailed daily work schedule to follow with reading and notebook assignments to be completed at home. Classroom time will be for labs and discussion, where the students will learn through hands-on activities, dissections and science experiments.
Parents will be responsible for checking their own child’s notebook and assigning grades.
