This course is for high school students, designed to provide students with a thorough understanding of all important physical, mental and social health issues. Taught from a caring and friendly perspective, the curriculum – Total Health presents a moral basis for a healthy lifestyle based upon scriptural principles. Anatomy, Body systems, food choices, exercise, diseases, stress, emergencies, responsibility, and more. Illustrations and photographs add visual interest to the text; at the end of each chapter, a review contains terms to define, questions based on the text and biblical application.

Life Skills -Kitchen Basics & Simple Cooking – Spring Semester
This course is designed to help you with the basics of the kitchen and lessons in simple cooking. It can be counted towards a half credit hour in home economics. We will cover topics such as kitchen tools and appliances, bread baking, making pies, meal planning, quick & slow cooking, nutrition, and much more.
Too many children leave home with little or no experience in the kitchen. This course will give your child the practical experience and confidence to manage their own kitchen, and ability to cook for any size of family or group.
There will be lab fees payable at the beginning of the semester, but no curriculum cost.
We will need to borrow kitchen items such as crock pots, food processors, blenders, pots and pans, etc.
