Frank Brunner grew up in Bradenton, Florida and is a 1985 graduate of Manatee High School.
Upon graduation from Manatee, Frank attended The United States Military Academy at West Point where he earned a BS degree in American Political and Diplomatic History. After graduating in May of 1989, Frank was commissioned as a 2ndLieutenant in the US Army Infantry and was assigned to Ft Benning, Georgia. In August 1990, Frank’s Unit deployed with the XVIII Airborne Corps to serve in Operations Dessert Shield / Dessert Storm (later known as the First Gulf War). Frank is a combat veteran who participated in the invasion of Iraq and led a Mechanized Infantry Platoon of 30 Infantry Men / 4 Armored Vehicles into the Euphrates River Valley. After his Army service, Frank was Honorably discharged and returned to Manatee County to settle down and pursue his civilian career.
He was elected to 3 terms on the Manatee County School Board, where he developed his passion for educating young people and preparing them to be successful citizens. Frank is passionate about imparting Biblical Truth to young people, as well as patriotism, love of country and the biblical world view shared by our founders which led to the creation of our republic.
Frank is married to Dr. Tamara Cornwell, a Palmetto City Commissioner, an adjunct college professor and a middle school Assistant Principal.
They have twin teenage boys, Joshua & Luke. They are active members of Faith Bible Church in Bradenton, where Frank is an Elder & the Chairman of their Leadership Team. Frank is currently the Executive Director of Manatee Crime Stoppers and the VP of the Florida Association of Crime Stoppers.
He also serves on the Board of 4 Ministries and several other non-profit agencies.
