Academy Classes Director Math, Biology & Literature
Hello Bridge families! I am so excited to be working with you all this year both as a teacher and Academy Classes Director! I live in Palmetto with my husband and three children Josh 21, Katie 19 and Noah 16. Nine pets complete our happy family including 4 cats, 2 dogs, and three snakes. I first starting teaching music in both public and private schools. I then moved to a corporate career both as a corporate trainer traveling North America and then as a business analyst. I received my bachelor’s degree in music education from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, have held K-12 teaching certifications in both Illinois and Pennsylvania and am currently working on my Masters in English Education. What else is important to know about me? Besides playing the flute for over 40 years, I have climbed the Great Wall of China, run several half marathons and my favorite food is pie! I look forward to pie day (the day before Thanksgiving of course) every year! Seriously though, while I had been teaching music for many many years, I discovered a new love of learning when I started homeschooling 10 years ago. The distinctive needs of my children led me to the realization that children are unique and therefore all learn differently. I received training in executive functioning strategies to better help my autistic and ADHD children. Having successfully propelled them into their high school and college careers, I then launched a tutoring company last year to better help children who learn 'out of the box.' "Everybody is a genius, but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” ~Anonymous. I believe each child is special and it's my job to make them believe it and to unlock those gifts! I am constantly developing new ways to help children find their own best way to succeed.

My name is Devin Stewart, and I am the co-owner and prop master of Dungeon Guild Printing, a Florida-based custom fabrication and 3D printing studio specializing in cosplay, prop design, tabletop gaming accessories, and creative technology education. Over the past several years, I have worked professionally with 3D printing, design, electronics, crafting, and hands-on fabrication while helping bring creative projects to life for customers across the country.
I have a strong passion for teaching students how creativity, technology, and problem-solving can work together in practical ways. My goal in the classroom is to create a positive, encouraging, and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, experimenting, and learning through hands-on experience.
As a Christian minister, parent, and educator, I value integrity, patience, responsibility, and treating others with kindness and respect. I believe students learn best when they are encouraged to think creatively, work diligently, and build confidence through real-world projects and teamwork.
I have a background in theatre arts dating back to my high school years and I was a traveling magician for 15 years. I also use my theatre arts background today by getting into character during my weekly Dungeons & Dragons sessions as well as when I cosplay.

Elementary Director / Teacher
Melinda Brown is excited to be teaching at The Bridge homeschool co-op this year. While she originally pursued a degree in computer information systems during a time when the field was rapidly growing, her passion for teaching never faded. Along the way, she intentionally took numerous math courses and has since gained valuable experience teaching different classes.
Melinda has a heart for helping students understand challenging concepts and grow in both confidence and curiosity. She is passionate about encouraging students not only academically but also spiritually, helping them grow in knowledge and faith. She and her amazing husband recently celebrated over thirty years together. Melinda and her family of four enjoy spending time outdoors together, appreciating God’s creation and creating meaningful memories together.

My name is Becky Stewart, and I am the co-owner and business manager of Dungeon Guild Printing, a Florida-based custom fabrication and 3D printing studio specializing in cosplay, prop design, tabletop gaming accessories, and creative technology education. Over the past several years, I have worked professionally with 3D printing, crafting, customer management, business organization, as well as being a step-parent to three young children.
I grew up in San Antonio, Texas where my love for music and learning began at an early age. I started singing in choirs and playing the piano at just four years old, developing a lifelong appreciation for creativity, discipline, and the joy that comes from learning new skills.
I have a heart for teaching and encouraging others. I served as a teacher’s aide for three years, where I discovered how much I enjoy helping children grow in confidence, develop new abilities, and celebrate their accomplishments. I believe every child learns differently and strives to create a positive, supportive, and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable learning and asking questions.
In addition to my educational experience, I have worked as a Licensed and Certified Veterinary Technician for 11 years. My background in veterinary medicine taught me patience, responsibility, compassion, and strong attention to detail — qualities I bring into the classroom each day.
As someone who loves animals and caring for God’s creation, I currently share my home with an exciting variety of pets, including 3 dogs, 2 doves, 2 ferrets, 2 ball pythons, 1 leopard gecko, and 1 bearded dragon. My experience with animals often helps students connect learning to the real world and encourages curiosity about science, nature, and responsibility.
I am passionate about helping children learn, grow, and feel proud of what they can accomplish. I value kindness, creativity, patience, and building confidence in every student I work with.
